** The Melrose was developed at the Ohio Agricultural Research and
Development Center (OARDC) in Wooster in the late 1940's. A cross between
Red Delicious and Jonathan, this very popular sweet-tart apple grows
better in the upper half of Ohio than anywhere else in the U.S.A.!!
