Group Field Trips are scheduled
events that take place in September. At that time of year, crops
are ripening and there is a lot to see in the orchard and fields.
Our hay wagon seats 30 children & adults on comfortable staw bales.
After a 30-minute narrated tour of our farm, our guests disembark
at the farm market, our guests watch the automatic donut machine
through
a kitchen
window. Mama Bear demonstrates an
apple peeling machine, offers everyone a free taste and answers questions
posed to her. Delicious cold cider and freshly-made donuts are an
enjoyable treat. And Moms and Dads get to shop in the market before
leaving. All of our guests receive a pumpkin and coloring book to
remember their trip to Hillside Orchard.
A Group Field Trip encompasses 1 1/2 hours, start to finish. The
cost is $6.00 per person ages 2 & up. A $25 non-refundable deposit is
required when reservations are made. The hay wagon,
outdoor teaching and eating areas are all covered to protect from
the weather.
